Capital City Track Classic

This year we will be opening up the Invitational to both the JV and the Varsity Division for boys and girls.

 

Varsity Level – Three (3) Individuals per Event for Boys and Girls

Junior Varsity – Three (3) Individuals per Event for Boys and Girls

Team Cost - $220.00 per school for all divisions or $75 per division.

 

MEDALS WILL BE AWAREDED TO THE TOP THREE INDIVIDUALS OR RELAY TEAMS PLUS TROPHIES FOR THE TOP TWO TEAMS BOYS AND GIRLS.

 

 

We have a 9 lane Atlas track.  Throws disc cage is the newest improvement to our facility with the installation taking place this past winter. High Jump and Pole Vault will be in the D-Zones for spectator enjoyment. We will have one high jump pit and one pole vault pit.

Weigh-ins will begin at 7:30 a.m until 8:15 a.m. with field events beginning at 8:45 a.m. and the running events starting at 9:15 a.m.

We will be using a Lynx color timing system (FAT). The officiating will be performed by the Carson Region Track Group and other local volunteers.

 

A full concession will be open for breakfast and lunch.

  • ENTRIES: 3 Athletes per event for each division,  JV and Varsity Boys and Girls..  Four (4) events maximum per athlete. 
  • TRIALS:  Trials will take place in the 100, 200 and 110/100 hurdles in the morning.
  • DEADLINES: Your intent to compete must be submitted through Athletic.net by Friday April 9th at 6pm. Entries will are open and must be in by Tuesday, April 12th by noon using Athletic.net. All entries will be accepted through Athletic.net. Get all scratches/replacements to Coach Maw by Thursday April 15th
  • FEE:  $220 per school or individual division entries at $75per division. If you have not mailed in your fee then please have it at the coaches meeting.
  • ADMISSION: $5 adults, $3 students, 8 and under free
  • SCORING: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 - We will score a maximum of 3 athletes per school per event. 
  • COACHES MEETING AND SCRATCH SESSION: 8:00am on the south west end of the field by the Track Shack.   (Please submit all scratches by Thursday April 16th)
  • STARTING TIMES: Field Event: 8:45am   Running Events:  9:15am
  • COACH’S HOSPITALITY ROOM:  Located in the track shack. Hot chocolate, coffee and donuts.
  • CONCESSIONS: The concession area is on the north side of the track by the restrooms.  We will be serving breakfast and lunch. Coaches will receive a meal coupon for each of their staff members. 
  • CAMPS: Teams may camp in the north-east grass area.  Do not locate team camps next to the staging area on the north-west side of the track. East-side visitor bleachers are open to tents. No tents on the west-side bleachers.  Please ask your athletes to clean their camp area before leaving.
  • AWARDS: Customized Medals 1 – 3 places.  Team Trophies for 1st, and 2nd place for both Boys and Girls for Varsity and for 1st place for the JV Division both Boys and Girls.
  • SPIKES:  We will allow: 3/16 spikes or less. Spikes will be on sale at the concessions for $2.50 for both shoes.
  • MINIMUM MARKS:  We’ll not be having minimum marks. Every mark will be measured.
  • BUSES AND ENTRANCE: Please have the bus driver park in the furthest north-west side of the parking lot, kitty corner of Walgreens.  Entrance to the stadium will be on the north-west side.

We will be having one high jump pit, and one pole vault pit. Pole vault will be in the south D-zone. The high jump will be in the north D-zone. (If the entries are significant we will have two pits for the high jump and the pole vault.)

 

ORDER OF EVENTS

 

Field Events (8:45am)

All field events will run on an open time format. JV will precede the Varsity competitors. At the Varsity level we anticipate the horizontal jumps and the throws to be placed into flights, three attempts each with the top 8 going to the finals. The JV Division will be given 4 attempts with no finals. This may change depending upon the number of entries. Final protocol will be given at the Coaches Meeting in the morning.
